Surrogacy would not be possible without the use of a fertility treatment, whether it is IUI or IVF. However, IUI is not used anymore nowadays, as it means that the surrogate is the genetic mother of the resulting child. Thus, IVF is the technique used in all surrogacy arrangements that take place today.
