Although the exact causes of biochemical pregnancy are not known to date, there are some factors that could be involved in this early pregnancy loss. Some of them are shown in the image:

  • Uterine malformations.
  • Genetic diseases.
  • Intra-uterine infections.
  • Unhealthy lifestyle habits such as smoking, drinking, etc.

Nevertheless, most doctors recommend not looking for a possible cause for the miscarriage since it could cause too much frustration for the prospective parents.
