What are the risks for egg donors?

The main risks of egg donation for women derive from ovarian stimulation and follicular puncture.

Although rare, egg donors may experience ovarian hyperstimulation if their body responds intensely to the medication given. In addition, follicular puncture is performed under anesthesia, so it is not completely risk-free.
