Endometrial biopsy is a study to determine if there is a pathogen in the uterus that would prevent the embryo from implanting. This gynecological technique can be performed with or without anesthesia, so the woman may feel some discomfort.

The procedure to perform an endometrial biopsy consists of inserting a catheter through the vagina and removing a small sample of tissue. This sample is sent to a lab to be analyzed under a microscope.
