Surrogacy is a process whereby a woman carries a child until birth for another person or couple. She is called surrogate and the person or couple in need of surrogacy are the intended or commissioning parents. Surrogacy is done using IVF surrogacy, which allows the intended parents to use their eggs and sperm. If they were unable, donor eggs and/or sperm would be used.
