Surrogacy is legal in the United Kingdom as established in the Surrogacy Arrangements Act 1985. However, under UK law, the legal mother of the child is the surrogate mother in all terms, irrespective of the surrogacy agreement you have signed beforehand. To become the rightful parents, the commissioning parents must apply for a parental order.
