Sometimes specialists recommend the transfer of more embryos to have a better chance of achieving pregnancy. Some of these situations are when the embryos generated in the laboratory are not of sufficient quality. Normally, if the embryos are of D quality, more than one is transferred.
Other reasons why it is advisable to transfer more embryos are if there is poor quality of the gametes (eggs and sperm) in the parents or if there are failures in previous IVF cycles.
