As one shall see in this diagram, the difference between classical IVF and IVF with a surrogate can be found in the embryo transfer step. With classical IVF, the resulting embryo is placed back into the intended mother's womb. On the contrary, the embryo is transferred to the surrogate's womb in IVF surrogacy procedures.
