In-situ hybridization or Sperm FISH

Thanks to spermatozoon FISH, it is possible to study the genetic material of male gametes with the help of fluorescent probes that specifically bind to a certain chromosome. From this fluorescence, the chromosome dotation of the marked chromosomes in each of the spermatozoa in the ejaculate can be visualised.

This technique is recommended in cases where the seminogram is altered, the male has undergone cancer treatment, implantation failure, repeated miscarriages, etc.
