Several surrogacy destinations allow a single woman to perform a treatment. However, she has to be especially careful and check that she will be able to get her filiation recognized in her country. Indeed, many countries still consider only the woman who has given birth as the legal mother and this can lead to legal problems.
However, unmarried men can provide the sperm (unless there is a fertility problem) to ensure the genetic relationship, although an egg donor will be required to carry out the fertilization in the laboratory.
