Surrogacy for gay male couples

Gay male couples are the family structure that most often applies to become parents through surrogacy, as they lack the biological ability to become pregnant and carry a baby until birth. Turning to a gestational carrier is therefore their only option to have a baby and share a genetic link with him. However, it should be clear that same-sex male couples are not the only family type that turns to surrogacy to start a family.

On the other hand, lesbian couples (same-sex female couples) rarely turn to surrogacy. As it is only obvious, it is uncommon for two women to have problems carrying a pregnancy to term.
