Reasons for Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Recurrent miscarriage refers to the pregnancy loss of two or more consecutive abortions, which increases the probability of having a new abortion if the woman had a new pregnancy.

Among 3-5% of women or couples of reproductive age who pursue pregnancy have repeat abortions. The most frequent causes of this are related to genetic anomalies in the embryos, uterine malformations and alterations of the immune system.
