Surrogacy is a major advantage for men who want to become dads: it's the only option for at least one of them to be genetically linked to the child born as a result. One parent can be the sperm "donor" that will contribute the semen sample for the creation of the embryo along with donor eggs. Some gay couples decide to mix the sperm of both parents-to-be, so that fertilization occurs randomly with the sperm of one of them.
