Thrombophilia is a disease related to alterations in the blood clotting system. As a result, blood clots can be formed in the blood vessels causing thrombosis.
The formation of thrombi in the placenta when a woman is pregnant makes it difficult for blood to reach the fetus and increases the risk of miscarriage.
