The regulations governing surrogacy in the USA do not apply to the whole country but vary from state to state.
In general, traditional surrogacy arrangements, that is, using the eggs of the surrogate, is strictly forbidden in all US states. Instead, only gestational surrogacy arrangements are allowed, so that the gestational carrier has no genetic link to the child.
