Types of uterine abnormalities

The female reproductive system develops from two primordial structures known as Müllerian ducts.

These ducts fuse together and form the Fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix, and part of the vagina. Developmental anomalies of the Müllerian duct system can cause different types of uterine anomalies or malformations that affect the shape of the uterus.
