Severe endometriosis or grade IV endometriosis is a disease that has an invasive nature. It causes endometrial tissue to grow outside the uterine cavity. It can lead to the formation of large endometrioma or chocolate cysts that adhere to the ovaries and other adjacent organs, causing severe pain and infertility in women.
