Pre-arrangement court approval for surrogacy in Greece

In Greece, in order to be able to undergo surrogacy, intended parents must obtain court approval from a Greek court prior to the embryo transfer. It usually takes about 8 weeks for the court to deliver its final judgement. This authorization allows the clinic to transfer the embryo to the gestational surrogate. Also, it can be used by the intended parents in order to register the baby as their child.
