IUI in surrogacy

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a simple fertility treatment whereby a sample of semen is placed inside the uterine cavity of the patient when she is ovulating in order for at least one sperm cell to hit the egg and fertilize it.

Although it used to be used in surrogacy arrangements in the past, nowadays it has fallen into disuse, as it means that the surrogate will be the biological mother of the child.
