Embryonic stage: zygote

When the egg and sperm are fertilized, the zygote is formed. This embryonic stage is characterized by the presence of two pronuclei, two polar bodies and a clear and uniform cytoplasm.

If the zygote has the above characteristics, it is considered to be suitable for further development up to the time of transfer. If 1 or 3 pronuclei and/or polar bodies are observed, the embryo is discarded for transfer.
