Many American couples, both homosexual and heterosexual, especially from Florida and nearby cities, are looking for a surrogate mother in Panama, given the country's geographic proximity and the lower cost of treatment there. In total, they can save up to $50,000 for the entire process. However, this is not recommended given the absence of legal guarantees: in Panama there is no law regulating surrogacy.
