When a person or couple must resort to surrogacy in order to have a baby, there are many factors that must be assessed. Not all countries are allowed to carry out a surrogacy process, so people should inform themselves before making the decision.
The general aspects that should be evaluated to determine which country is better in each case are the following:
- Family type, as there are countries that do not accept singles, gay couples, etc.
- If it is necessary to make a gamete or embryo donation
- The relationship with the surrogate
- Availability to travel
- The baby's filiation process.
Each of these factors must be studied by the prospective parents to ensure legal certainty and to comply with the rights of the parties involved at all times.
